PROFESSIONALS

Bruno Polito

For more than 30 years, Bruno has applied his unique combination of technical understanding and communication skills to counsel clients through the complexities of intellectual property law.  He has represented a wide range of clients, from individuals to the largest corporations, and he has represented those clients in jurisdictions all over the world.  Bruno is experienced in all aspects of IP law, including patent and trademark prosecution, licensing and litigation.  However, he specializes in procuring patent rights for his clients.  His first client was himself.

As an electrical engineer, Bruno spent five years in research and development programs focused on radar, signal processing, and adaptive algorithms.  He wrote software to simulate new designs and then built prototypes of the most promising.  He also wrote technical descriptions documenting his work, presented his work to potential customers, and tutored new engineers.  As a rookie engineer, Bruno designed an analog-to-digital converter circuit that was later patented.  It was this experience that led him to pursue a career in patent law.

After graduating from Brooklyn Law School, Bruno honed his skills in New York City by working for law firms specializing in intellectual property.  He immersed himself in intellectual property law and established a reputation for extremely fine work; a reputation that he has been proud to bring and maintain at Lerner David.  While enjoying all types of IP work, Bruno emphasizes patent preparation and prosecution because it is the key to successfully protecting one’s patent rights.  After all, every battle is won before it is ever fought.
