Sara H. Desai

Sara Desai practices in all areas of intellectual property including patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, and litigation. She mainly works with clients in the technical fields of mechanical and materials engineering with an interest in consumer products and packaging.

Prior to law school, Sara gained practical experience as an engineer working in the cosmetics industry. During this time, she worked in the development and compatibility testing of cosmetic packaging including analysis of the chemical and mechanical strength of novel sustainable materials.

During law school, Sara gained diverse experience in various areas of the law. Sara served as a legal intern in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas where she developed legal writing and research skills while working in civil motions. She also participated in the Villanova Mental & Physical Health Law Clinic where she represented multiple clients in administrative hearings. Further, she interned with the U.S. Department of Energy, where she assisted with various patent and trademark matters. Sara also has an interest in the arts and volunteered with Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts during law school.  

Sara served as the President of the Villanova Intellectual Property Society and as a Staff Writer on the Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal. Sara graduated with a concentration in Intellectual Property along with her law degree.
