Jacob (Jeung) Huh is an intellectual property attorney with more than a decade of experience helping clients protect and strategically manage innovations in the electrical, computer, and software fields. His practice focuses on patent procurement, prosecution, global portfolio management, standards-related patent work, licensing support, and patent litigation.

Jacob works with a broad range of sophisticated and rapidly evolving technologies. His experience includes wireless telecommunications, such as 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, radio access networks (RAN), core networks (CN), wireless systems, and related technologies.
He also has extensive experience with video coding and compression technologies, including ECM, VVC, HEVC, JVET, neural-network-based codecs, split deep neural networks, and tensor compression, as well as immersive media technologies involving MPEG standards, avatars, and related applications.
Jacob’s technical experience also encompasses medical devices, communication networks, data processing, semiconductors, electrical systems, software technologies, circuits, autonomous vehicles, unmanned vehicles, and related fields.

Jacob has drafted hundreds of patent applications and has managed global patent portfolios across a wide range of technologies and industries. He works closely with clients to develop and implement portfolio strategies that align patent protection with their technical and business objectives.
Standards-Related Patent Experience
Jacob has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications involving industry standards and potential standard-essential technologies. He also prepares claim charts and standards mappings to support portfolio evaluation, licensing, and enforcement efforts.

Jacob has been deeply involved in researching international intellectual property issues, giving him a broad perspective on the protection and management of intellectual property rights across jurisdictions.
Jacob earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and his law degree from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, formerly known as Franklin Pierce Law Center.
