Chung Hee is a patent agent whose practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She has experiences across technical fields including materials science, chemistry, automotives, cybersecurity, large language processing, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and software applications and systems.
She guides matters through the patent procurement process and counsels clients on patent strategy and portfolio development, working to align claim scope and filing strategy with each client’s objectives. She collaborates with inventors, in-house counsels, and foreign associates to coordinate U.S. and international patent protection. Her commitment to understanding the client’s technology and goals helps identify the strategic direction of prosecution and development of a robust patent portfolio.
Prior to joining Lerner David, Chung Hee worked closely with startup companies, guiding the clients through unfamiliar steps of protecting their intellectual property and helping them build patent assets that support company value. She also conducted academic research at the intersection of biotechnology, nanotechnology, and semiconductor devices, and has published her work in peer-reviewed journals.
