Priya Persaud

Priya Persaud’s practice is focused on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications across a wide array of technologies in the electronics and computer fields, including computer software, artificial intelligence systems, financial technology systems, mobile devices, wireless systems, and security and authentication systems.  
 
Priya graduated from Rutgers Law School, where she worked as a student attorney in the Rutgers Intellectual Property Law Clinic counselling a variety of clients on trademark, copyright, and patent matters. She served as the senior articles editor of the Rutgers Law Review and authored a student note entitled “Protecting Against Ultron: Exploring the Potential Criminal Liability of Self-Programming Deep Learning Machines.” Priya also participated in the Asian/Pacific-American Law Student Association, serving one term as co-chair.
 
Prior to law school, Priya earned bachelor’s degrees in computer science, jurisprudence, and political science from Montclair State University. Her profound interests in studying law and artificial intelligence inspired many of her undergraduate research projects and fueled her interest in attending and presenting at research conferences.
 
Priya is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and its Artificial Intelligence subcommittee.
